The LET’S 2014 conference is jointly organised by 3 Italian organisations:
CNR - the National Research Council - coordinator
APRE - the Agency for the Promotion of European Reserach
ASTER - the Consortium for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Emilia-Romagna.

is the largest public research organisation in Italy. Founded 90 years ago, CNR employs nowadays more than 10.000 people, mostly  researchers and technicians, in more than 100 institutes, 12 research parks and 7 multidisciplinary national departments, with an annual budget of approximately 1 billion euro, from both public and private funding.

Its mission is:

  • to perform research in its own Institutes
  • to promote innovation and competitiveness of the industrial system and provide technologies and solutions to emerging public and private needs
  • to promote the internationalization of the national research system
  • to advise the Government and other public bodies on strategic themes for the Country and the collectivity
  • to contribute to the qualification of human resources.

CNR is the full member for Italy of 53 of the most important international scientific non-governmental organisations gathering together the worldwide scientific community. It is also a top level R&D performer in Europe, being the fourth  FP7 beneficiary; CNR is also the best performer in NMP theme in Italy.

is a non-profit organisation based in Italy that provides information, assistance and training in order to promote Italian participation to European Research and Innovation programmes. APRE was created through a joint initiative of the Italian Ministry of Research and the European Commission in 1989 and is supported by approximately 120 member organisations, including both public and private research centres, industries, industrial associations, banks, chambers of commerce, science parks and 40 universities. Coming from the FP3, as well the subsequent programmes (FP4, FP5 and FP6, FP7) and now in Horizon 2020, APRE has been appointed by the Italian Ministry of Research and the European Commission as host organisation of the Italian National Contact Points for all the themes, including NMP and Bioeconomy.

is the Consortium including Emilia-Romagna regional administration, the Universities located in the regional territory, CNR, ENEA, working in collaboration with the industrial associations. It was established in 1985 as a Consortium for industrial research, technology transfer and innovation, with the aim of promoting technological innovation in industry, creating link between researchers and enterprises and identifying the great frontiers of science which will influence future economy and on which business and research can work and invest together. At international level ASTER has a long lasting experience in participation and coordination of European funded networks (Enterprise European Network, E-RAIN European Network of Regional Innovation Agencies, ERIK Network focused on regional economy based on knowledge. Furthermore ASTER is member of the MANUFUTURE and EUROP platforms.
