VISIT THE CNR RESEARCH AREA IN BOLOGNA!

Do not miss this opportunity to visit the multidisciplinary CNR Research Area in Bologna, where six CNR Institutes: Biometeorology (IBIMET), Microelectronic and Microsystems (IMM), Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (ISAC), Marine Sciences (ISMAR), Nanostructured Materials Studies (ISMN), Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) and National Astrophysics Institute (Astrophysics and Cosmic Physics –IASF and Radioastronomy –IRA), the regional government science and technology agency (ASTER) and the Public-private Consortia MIST E-R and PROAMBIENTE of the CNR Technopole AMBIMAT, are topologically connected and work together for effective converging science and technologies focused to success in industry, as well as the wealth of our society.

MIST E-R Laboratories

The MIST E-R guided tour will show how the applied micro and nanotechnologies can  promote the introduction of innovative processes and devices, especially in SME products:

  • biomaterials  (silktronics and biodevices)
  • hybrid advanced graphene based products (under the Flagship Graphene)
  • flexible electronics and optoelectronics
  • microsensors and microsystems (MEMS), including a pilot line suitable for prototyping and small series production

The PROAMBIENTE guided tour will show innovative approaches and advanced  technological solutions for environmental monitoring , mitigation and remediation by green technology, cultural heritage protection and climate change studies:

  • Tools for cultural heritage protection: from the present to the future
  • Sensors and environmental monitoring: air quality and climate in urban and remote areas
  • From up-to-date macro- to innovative micro- stations for air quality control
  • The chemistry at the service of the waste water remediation: AOP ( Advanced Oxidation Process) based prototype-system
  • S.Wa.P ( Shallow Water Prospector): a smart unmanned surface vehicle for geophysical monitoring  
  • Development and operation of a prototype-system for the detection of tsunamis generated near the shore to be used in the Mediterranean Tsunami Early Warning Systems
  • Climate change: studies of the past, aimed at the forecast of the future climate scenarios
  • Green technologies for the mitigation and remediation of polluted natural and urbanized areas
  • Quality of agrofood products: integrated approaches including agro-climatic characterization and zoning methodologies (farm), biochemical analyses, sensory and consumer science (fork)
  • Technological innovations for sustainable use of silk industry by-products for biomedical applications and as animal feed source
