The HYDROBOND European project (new cost/effective superHYDROphobic coatings with enhanced BOND strength and wear resistance for applications in large wind turbine blades: http://hydro-bond.eu), funded by the European Commission under FP7, started in 2013 and will end in 2016. The project goal is the development of innovative superhydrophobic coatings to prevent ice formation and adhesion on wind mill blades, with a specific focusing on off-shore plants, where, maintenance and repair services must drastically minimized due the poorly accessible locations and extreme weather conditions”.
